Steven Lin (Xiteng)
Q. When did you start fencing at OFA, and what are some of your earliest memories?
I started in the summer of 2015 when I just arrived in the U.S. from Beijing, China. My earliest memory is the summer camp that year when I was trying to make friends with other fencers.
Q. How has fencing, OFA, and its coaches affected your life over the years?
Over these three years, my fencing skill has improved tremendously. Not only has OFA helped me to be a better athlete, but also a more mature person who likes to face challenges and work hard.
Q. What are a few of your favorite fencing memories?
My favorite memories were the time during competitions. I got to spent time with my teammates, and we would cheer each other on.
Q. What will you miss most about the club?
I will definitely miss my friends here and the coaches. They are some of the kindest people I've ever met.
Q. How about the future? Do you plan to keep fencing? What are your goals?
I will be competing in NCAA for my college (University of Pennsylvania). Hopefully I will be able to make the team and get some good results.
